A Habit For Instant Happiness 🌱

do·pa·mine

noun

Definition: A neurotransmitter made in your brain; also known as the “feel good” hormone.

Did you know you can trick your brain into happiness?

SCIENCE:

When you smile – even artificially – it stimulates your brain's reward mechanisms in a way that even chocolate can’t match.

Smiling releases "happiness chemicals" in the brain, naturally elevating your mood and radiating positive energy.

Quite literally - fake it till you make it.

IMPACT:

So why does this matter?

You can leverage this boost of positive energy from a smile to amplify your confidence, enhance relationships, and create an atmosphere full of optimism and resilience - all essential components for thriving in your work.

IMPLEMENTATION:

Why habits? Your time is valuable and limited; you don’t need more complex systems. My goal is to provide you with simple, effective tools to support your physical and mental well-being and make you more efficient and conserve mental energy. (read more)

This is a completely FREE way to be happier. Try this every morning.

Step 1: Stand in front of a mirror

Step 2: Smile at yourself

Step 3: Maybe even laugh

When I smile at myself in the mirror, I can’t help but laugh. And from there, I just let it happen. And boom! My mood is instantly better.

TOOLKIT:

In every edition of Creatures of Habit, I feature a product to help you implement this week’s habit.

You truly only need yourself for this (well, and a mirror). If, for some reason, you don’t have a mirror, buy one!

CHALLENGE:

This week, challenge yourself to smile in the mirror for 30 seconds every morning.

Next week, I’ll ask you how it went.

“Smile, it’s free therapy.”
