- My Story
I sat on the edge of my bed, suddenly upset.
When had I stopped truly enjoying the work I was doing?
I had heard someone say, a dream life is only a dream life if it feels like one. But it didn't.
I was always thinking:
"Are you lazy? You can't even work for more than an hour at a time before needing to rest."
"You need to be working more! Everyone else is up until 2 am working and you’re asleep by 10 pm."
This was less than 2 years ago - I was disconnected from my aspirations and constantly chasing the next milestone.
Everywhere I looked online, people were talking about how successful they were. How they had transformed their businesses using this or that strategy.
I had spent months following these strategies, only to see no results. I was drained, physically and mentally.
Those strategies led to burnout instead of breakthroughs.
So, I thought to myself: If those business strategies aren't working, what will?
I made a bold choice: I flipped the script.
I put my health ahead of the hustle.
I have always said my health is my priority, but I had never put that into action in the context of my work.
I wanted to build a foundation for myself to achieve everything I want.
I wanted to build my success story, but I also wanted to feel good while writing it. It hit me that if I kept ignoring how I felt in the moment, even when I reached success, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it.
So, I started making changes:
It all began with my mindset. I started focusing on what I could control and act upon in this moment.
I channeled my love for routines to shape a new approach, leveraging existing parts of my life.
But let's be honest, change is never easy.
You will always face challenges. Your approach to them is the important part.
I started re-defining what success meant for me.
Think about it – if you don't know what success looks like for you, how on earth are you going to get there?
Success isn’t just how much money your business makes or how many products you sell. Success is about who you want to be and how you want to live your life.
I’d seen a lot of information about healthy habits and living a healthy lifestyle. But what does that even mean? Health is subjective and healthy is different for everyone.
I wasn’t convinced. I have always been a science person. I love learning how things work. I don’t just want to be told I need x hours of sleep or that I should do x meditation. I want an explanation of how it works on a physiological and psychological level.
So I did my research. I knew that for any of this to work, I had to believe in it.
I started small, incorporating simple, science-backed habits into my routine.
What happened next? These habits stuck.
Everything started changing.
These small changes made me happier than I had ever been, in better shape than I had ever been, and feeling more motivated than I ever had.
As my physical and mental health improved, I felt myself being more creative, more productive, and less stressed, and the work I did each day felt fulfilling, beyond just the results it brought.
In 6 months, I:
Had people reaching out to me for advice so they could do what I was doing
Gained an engaged community of 18k followers on social media
Felt like I understood my purpose more than ever
Got in the best shape I have ever been in
Signed 2 ongoing, monthly clients
Felt the most in control of my life
My journey is ongoing. I still face challenges, daily. Every day, I am actively figuring out where I want to go. The paths of health and success never really end. But I wanted to create a platform to support others on this journey.
